Flood support scheme launched - £5000 grants available to businesses and homeowners
Mar 20, 2014

The UK Government has launched a financial support scheme for homeowners and businesses that have been flooded between 1st December 2013 and 31st March 2014.

The Flood Support Scheme Guidance provides information for local authorities, businesses and homeowners on schemes that have been announced by the Prime Minister to help homeowners and businesses recover from the adverse weather since 1st December 2013.

Businesses or homeowners that have been flooded may be eligible for a £5000 flood resilience grant. If they think they may be eligible, they should contact their local authority to find out what next steps they need to take.

Grants are intended only to fund measures which improve the property’s resilience or resistance to flooding, over and above repairs that would normally be covered by insurance.

RAB Consultants can assist by undertaking property level flood protection surveys that assess the risk to your property, survey the flood water ingress routes and make recommendations for the flood resistance and resilience measures that will be required to mitigate the risk of flooding.

RAB has been supporting local authorities across the UK to deliver independent property level flood protection surveys, including Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster to name but a few.
