Coastal Visual Asset Inspection in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland
Aug 30, 2019

Over the next few weeks, we will be undertaking coastal visual asset inspections as part of the Dumfries and Galloway Shoreline Management Policy Study. Working in partnership with Dumfries & Galloway Council and RPS, this work will help towards the review of the 2005 Shoreline Management Plan policies which includes extending and recommending updated policy for how to manage coastal flood and erosion risks over a 100 year planning horizon.

Our accredited asset inspectors will inspect more than 150 coastal assets which is critical to planning and carrying out work, as these visual inspections form the basis of maintenance decisions and remedial work. We will be using the Condition Assessment Manual process which provides a consistent methodology for the identification and condition grading of flood and coastal assets.
