We’ve had a busy 2007 at RAB Consultants.
We’ve done numerous flood risk assessments for developers in accordance with PPS25, and we’ve been involved in lots of exciting projects for the Environment Agency, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Welsh Assembly Government and the Highways Agency. Our projects have included:
- strategic flood risk and climate change studies;
- ‘live’ flood response exercises and training events;
- development of a Flood Response Plan template and guidance for category one responders which is to be used by the Civil Contingencies Secretariat as the basis for national guidance.
With so much going on, we’ve strengthened the team.
Claire Wilenchik has a Masters degree in Environmental Dynamics from Loughborough University and has been involved in a variety of flood risk assessments, a flood forecasting service review for the Environment Agency and a tabletop flood exercise for the Lancashire coast since she joined us in August.
We also have a growing number of Associates, Mervyn Pettifor has over 35 years experience across a wide range of flood, land drainage, water level and coastal management business areas.
Charis Fowler is a specialist in Environmental noise (both monitoring and noise assessments) and air quality assessments. She is experienced in providing Environmental Impact assessments, Environmental Statements and Strategic Environmental Assessments.
We’ve moved, but not far!
We are still based in the Lichfield Business Village but have outgrown unit 1, so you will now find us in the larger Unit 22. Our address and telephone numbers have not changed and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our new more spacious office.

Looking ahead to 2008
We are delighted to welcome Bryan Nelson as a Director at RAB from January 2008. Bryan is an experienced Project Manager with extensive flood risk management experience. He will be based in the North East and is looking forward to helping us grow and develop the business.
